HOPE FOR SYRIA - EARTHQUAKE RESPONSE

The devastating earthquake that hit Syria shook our hearts to the core. As members of the Syrian community, we felt the urge to do something to help the victims of this tragedy. We knew that we couldn't do it alone and needed our community's support.

Many of the Syrian community reached out and suggested to do something. They not only offered their support but also their time to help us collect materials and donations for those in need. Their kindness and generosity touched us, and it reminded us of the power of unity and solidarity.

For three days, we collected materials and donations, and we were overwhelmed by the response from people of all backgrounds. We saw people coming together to support a cause that was greater than themselves and a beautiful sight to behold.

And then came the concert. Hope for Syria was more than just a fundraiser; it was a celebration of culture and a tribute to the resilience of the Syrian people. The music was a fusion of Syrian and Catalan, and it was an amazing experience to witness. The kids of Syrian families also did their part, making accessories and handmade things to sell and collect funds.

The artists involved in the fundraising efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Syria deserve a special mention for their significant contributions. Athrodeel, a musical group from Syria composed of Aseel Massoud and Ahmad Diab, and Laud artist Ayham Omran were instrumental in organizing the action. They mobilized people for the collection of materials and the concert and ensured that everything was organized smoothly. Their hard work and dedication to the cause were truly inspiring.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Laura Jabbour for giving us the concept of Hope for Syria, which served as the inspiration for our event. Her exhibition with the same name inspired us to create a message of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Laura created a beautiful thank you note that we would like to share with everyone who supported us in this effort.

This shows the importance of culture and solidarity in community building. and how individual action can lead to collective action when people are in need. But we need to ensure that this spirit of solidarity does not fade in time, and that humanity keeps being our compass.

We are humbled by the outpouring of support from everyone involved in this event. Whether you donated money, materials, or time, we are grateful for your contribution. We could not have done it without you.

The earthquake may have left a trail of destruction, but it also brought out the best in people. It showed us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. And with the support of our community, we know that we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this tragedy.

Thank you again to everyone who stood with us in support of this cause. We will continue to work together to make the world a better place, one small act of kindness at a time.
